Movies

Movies, Chris, and his new computer.

Last night we watched Napoleon Dynamite, and it was not impressive. It was decent, but not very good. The kind of movie that you keep watching only to see if it gets better, but it never does. I also watched the Jerk and Men at Work on TBS. Tonight we rented Troy, Harold and Kumar go to White Castle, and the Bourne Supremacy. Haven’t watched any of the new ones yet.

Yesterday my brother left for school for 2 months. He left around 4:30, though he was supposed to be gone at 9 in the morning. Troubles with his truck held him up.

He got a new ibook too. Is a 3 year old original ibook, blueberry, worth $600 but paid $100.

Ok, back Friday.

Rent-a-cops…
I HATE rent-a-cops!

Happy New Year!

Resolutions, and cool spot.

Happy New Year to you all, all 4 of you (maybe). Hard to believe its 2005. Seems like just a few months ago we were writing 9x on papers, heck, I remember writing 89 on papers.

So, new year means new years resolutions, and mine are mostly the same as last year.

  1. Clean my room (and KEEP it clean, would be a good idea)
  2. Get in better shape. this is a multi-part thing:
    • ride bike more (this means not leaving it at Jenn’s for the summer)
The rest is actually from the requirement of Coast Guard training camp graduation:
    • 29 push-ups in a minute
    • 38 sit-ups in a minute
    • 1.5 mile run in 16.50
    • sit and reach of 15.5cm*
    • swim 100 meters then tread water 5 minutes

*sit and reach: sit on the floor and reach out with your legs flat, your fingers must extend x cm beyond toes. Is a measure of flexibility.

  3. Do a better job with the blog. This past year has been some sucky blogging. The website updates have been all but nonexistent, the regular blog updates have been consistently late, and well, it’s just not been what it should be.

So, in other news I found one of the coolest points in the US. You may all be aware that as you travel north through Michigan, you pass a maker stating you are passing the 45th parallel, “halfway from the Equator to the North Pole” (the actual halfway point is 10 miles north, since the Earth is slightly elliptical). Well, as you travel west, in Wisconsin, you will also cross the 90th meridian. So, naturally, there comes this point (scroll to bottom, then to 3rd pic up). Thats right, the exact middle of the North-east quadrasphere (quadrasphere?) Cool, huh? I guess though that the real cool point is again 10 miles north, and would likely require a GPS.

OK, thats all for today.
Again, Happy New Year,

!!!!!!!!!! 200th !!!!!!!!!!

200, Jobs, and Game.

Yeay! Two hundred posts. That’s freaking insane. That means it’s been 600 days? Wow. I can’t believe I’ve written that much crap.

I don’t think I mentioned it, but Nextel never happened. They were only interviewing on the 1 day. Oh well, I will find something. I would of course prefer sooner than later. I did see a cool job on Michigan Works today, as a rail car mechanic and inspector. I have no mechanics experience though. I will look into it a little more though, as it sounds like it could be cool.

So yeah, as I said last time, I’ve been playing MGS3, hence the last 2 posts being made today. I am almost done with it though. The Metal Gear series is awesome, if you like that kind of game. It’s like a movie that lasts a week.

All right, I think that wraps it up. Back Friday I guess.

Happy Birthday iBook

Anniversary/Birthday, 200th, Shopping, Gift, Somerset, and Chinese.

Wow, it’s been 2 years now since I got the iBook. Makes it seem sad that I am already looking into replacing it. Honestly though, I was looking at replacing it with a 12″ PowerBook when it was barely a month old.

This post, 2 more, and then I am on number 200. Thats Tuesday the 14th by my count.

Jenn and I went shopping today in Saginaw. First we went to Olive Garden for lunch, but after 14 minutes and fully realizing the price, we left without even ordering drinks. We ended up at Bennigan’s next, and after eating we were so stuffed we never even shopped.

I bought Jenn’s gift yesterday. She knows where it is and it’s driving her crazy. I, on the other hand, am loving it. No, I shouldn’t enjoy torturing her, but I do anyway.

We might be going to Somerset in Troy later in the week, I think Thursday. I love that mall.

On December 20th Scott, Sarah, Jenn and I are going to Old Great Wall for lunch. I am excited. I liked it.

OK, that’s all for today.

Untitled 6

Stats, Car, Nextel, Coat, and Chinese.

Lets start with a little statistical summary. I am at 195 posts total, with 34 from blogger, 132 general, 6 pictures, 19 special, and 4 stories. In addition, I have had 3088 Visitors.

My Car died yesterday. Dead battery. My uncle recharged the battery and I drove it around for a while, and it seems ok now.

I still haven’t heard from Nextel. I am thinking I didn’t get it.

I have a new coat. Is a very nice Docker’s jacket, black with leather collar, and matching gloves.
Thanks Mom

Jenn and I went to “Old Great Wall” today. As a buffet, it’s really good. They had quite a few things I’ve never had before which is always good. Also, though we didn’t try it, they have a grill. You can pick from a whole bar of vegetables, lo-mein noodles, and meats and take them up to the chinese guy who promptly fries them up for you.

Ok, I all done. Till Thursday…

Turkey Day is Coming

Job, Mr. Deeds, Thanksgiving, Puppy, eBay

Hi all.

I might have a job, as a repair technician at Advanced Wireless. I turned in my resume yesterday and they called a few hours later for an interview. Problem is I am going to Alpena with Jenn tomorrow and wont be back till Thursday night, and of course they wanted the interview tomorrow. They were supposedly going to try and get me in today, but never called. Oh well, maybe Friday or Saturday.

We rented Mr. Deeds again a few days ago. The first time we rented it we forgot to watch it. This time, we tried to watch it, but the disk wouldn’t work right. Not in my ibook, my PS2, or our DVD player. Talk about a bad disk.

As I said above, I will be in Alpena from about noon Wednesday to 6 or 7 pm on Thursday.

Jenn and I went to the animal shelter and were looking at the dogs. In one cage there was a little black ball hiding in the corner, and deja vu immediately set in.  As it got up and walked toward us, it got worse. You see, Molly was a little black ball in the corner when we got her. This new ball is nearly a twin. A black lab, about 8 to 12 weeks old, and even has the white spot on its chest. This one is a boy though, and no spots on the paws. It would be nice, but we can’t handle another Molly.

I sold one of my 3 auctions on eBay, and shipped it out today. The other 2 are relisted until next Tuesday I believe. The freaking moron that wouldn’t pay has now left negative feedback claiming they did pay and I never shipped, so now I am fighting with eBay to get the comment pulled. Damn morons, screwing it up for the rest of us. Oh well, I am trying not to think about that, cause it pisses me off.

Anyway, I think that’s it. I’ll see you all Friday, with the post-turkey day update.

Number 191/129

Looking back, Golf, Job Fair, Chen’s, TV and Movies, and Parade.

Just for the sake of maybe something to write about, I looked at the post from one year ago today. I actually remember writing it, which is more than a bit scary. That is a main goal of the blog though, to provide a way for me to look back at what was happening on whatever previous day, and a point I have been neglecting. The bad news is though, that there hasn’t been anything happening lately. The only things I really do are with Jenn, and I deem many of them unfit for sharing (get the dirty thoughts out of your mind people, its not bad stuff, just personal stuff, or just rather boring).

Anyway…

We went golfing yesterday. I never knew how much goose shit you can pick upon your shoes. Jenn did not bad, I did do bad. I had an 18 on the first hole, which was a par 4. I did progressively better as the day went on, but we had to quit because it was getting rather dark. I owe Jenn 4 balls, that I lost to the water.

This morning we went to the Career Fair at SVSU, if you can call 8 hospital reps a career fair. I guess it should be refered to as a job fair, as the career has clearly already been chosen in this case.

Afterward we went to Chen’s, which was good (as always, except the chicken strips (inside joke, sorry)). Then a nap followed by Jenn going to class.

After her class, we watch TV and after Good Eats, Jenn decided she wanted to make Sweet Potato pie. So, we ran to Meijer and got what we needed, and picked up Mr. Deeds and Shrek 2. Shrek 1 was good, and I must say so was 2. Mr. Deeds will be tomorrow.

Also tomorrow, is the making of the sweet potato pie and apparently a parade down Broadway. Not supposed to be anything big though; Marching band, commissioner, Mayor, fire trucks, etc…

Ok, I think that’s plenty for today. Will update again Saturday.

Actually, its only a medium star.

Little Stuff

Site, Lunch, Bowling, Pics, and PS2.

Lets see…

I have added a few links on the links page.

My Mom, Scott, Jenn and I went to Golden Dragon today for lunch, then I sat for 2 hours as my Mom and Jenn had their nails done.

Jenn, my Mom, Dan, Chris, Steph and I went bowling tonight.

Jenn and I took the camera we bought in Mackinaw to Meijer and had the pics developed, will post scans soon.

I found my GT2 discs. Still pissed that the Simulation mode disk is cracked. Also pissed I have no idea where my PS1 or PS2 memory card is.

I think thats it. See you Monday.

Election

Election, Pics, Rentals, and Ads.

Well, I am disappointed. There is no reason for Prop 2 to have passed. I see no reason that homosexuals shouldn’t be able to marry, but seeing as how Bush was reelected there will probably be a national ban soon anyway.

I edited the pictures, so they are better quality, but lower resolution and file size.

I’m not sure what else.

Jenn and I rented Mr. Deeds, AutoModelista, and Paycheck. AM is ok, but GranTurismo is the god of PlayStation racing games. Paycheck was pretty good. Mr. Deeds will be later.

Oh well, at least the political ads are over. I heard on a discussion board today that Nov. 3rd should be a holiday, “End of Political Ads for a While” day, or EPAW day.

Ok, bye til Friday.

123

Interview, Columbia House, Scott, Food, Folding, and Who?

This is general number 123. Sad, considering the next highest category is Blogger at 34, then Special at 18.

Job interview was tonight at the Radio Shack in the Fashion Square Mall. No clue how I did. Was supposed to be an application and an interview, but I was never interviewed. Perhaps they thought I was another applicant and let me go early, perhaps the Bay City store needs to interview me, or perhaps they just plain don’t want me.

My last CD from Columbia House came in, so next month I will be canceling my membership. Woohoo.

Sixty one days until Christmas, and 2 until Scott’s Birthday.

I made beef and bean enchiladas last night. I put a bit too much spice in the meat though, it seems 2 lbs beef + 3 jalapenos + 2 habeneros = too much. They were good though. Also, Jenn made crab rangoon. It was odd to have mexican and chinese at once, but it worked out because hers were done about an hour earlier than mine, so was a nice appetizer/snack.

Saw Suchyta today, first time in a few months. He is moving to Nevada next week I guess.

I passed 2000 points on Folding@Home today, woohoo!

I received an email from a “fan” named Sydney. I replied nicely, but to be honest have no idea who you are. Thanks for the compliments though.

I guess thats it.

Till Saturday,
nick
