Argh!

Turkey day, Lazy, Links, and Movies.

Uhm, yeah, well that’s how it goes.

Hope your Thanksgiving went well. If it seemed too short, take heart in the fact that Christmas is less than a month away (26 days).

Our Thanksgiving went alright. Suchyta came over, I argued with my brother, friends from out-of-town came home and didn’t bother to call me (you know who you are). Blah-blah-blah, it’s over now.

I ate turkey twice Thursday, once Friday, and once today. I don’t want any more Turkey. Luckily, there isn’t much of it left.

I have accomplished nearly nothing this holiday weekend. I got a hair cut today (finally) but no homework or room cleaning yet. Homework will be tomorrow, perhaps a bit tonight, room will need to wait (it has for so long, I doubt it will mind).

I put a few more links on the links page. I don’t really know what you people are into, so it’s kinda hard. Between the bookmarks in Safari, and the .webloc files I found from my 7600, there are a good 250+ I could put up, but I don’t know which ones. I will sort through them a bit more late next week and see what else to throw in. I also corrected John’s name on the pics page. Seems he didn’t want to be known as “Jhn”, go figure.

Ok, I am off to watch either Charlie’s Angels : Full Throttle or Terminator 3 : Rise of the Machines, not sure which yet. We saw Bruce Almighty Thursday, it was funny, a Jim Carey classic.

Ok, go do something productive.

How about a fountain of SMART!

Close, Too Close

Close, A year, Pics, School, and Tired.

Well, it’s 11:14 at night, and I looked over at buddy list, saw scott, and somehow that reminded me it’s blog night. So, here I am.

After looking at old invoices and boxes, and from what I can remember, between November 3rd and 5th was 1 year since my 7600 died, and December 5th will be 1 year since I bought the iBook. Things have changed in the last year, beyond the computer even. With the moving, and the parents and all that, It’s been a long year.

I did some more updating to the website on the pics page. John’s tree is funny.

School is sucking more than ever. C++ and Java just get harder and more frustrating. Glad I only have 6 credits for next semester, I royally need a break. At least the end of the year is just a few weeks away.

Ok, I need sleep, been worn out for like 2 weeks now, need to try to fix it somehow. Maybe Thanksgiving break will help.

Til Wednesday,

Fun, Fun, Fun

Killed the ibook, No Linux, 1000th view, Movies, and School.

Well, I was playing on ibook and, long story short, I screwed up. Just got done with re-installing the OS. Wont do that again.

I also learned that its just not possible to install linux on a Powerbook 5300. Not easily anyway. I tried several different methods, but it just didn’t want to work.

After the 400th visitor fiasco, I am glad to say that the 1000th page view went much better. Yes, Nicholas Suchyta was the 1000th page view.

No more movies recently. Still going for T3, and Bruce almighty comes out next week.

School is going ok. I told my Java teacher why I am falling behind, and he completely understood. Java and Obj. Oriented C++ is alot. Next semester will be lighter.

And uhm, thats it.
yeah.

Til Sunday,

Would it then be a computer disease?

Tired

IBEW 2, Movie week, Matrix revelation, TV, Toast, and Delta winter.

Hi. How are you? Yeah, same here.

Had second IBEW interview today, went. Thats about it, wasn’t good or bad or anything, it just went.

Movie week is over. I am back to realizing how much TV sucks. T3 came out today, so I will need to go and try getting that.

I finally figured out the end of matrix revolutions. At least I think I did. Is one of those movies that is very open to interpretation.

Andy Griffith marathon is on. God TV sucks. Would rather watch the State of the Union address. I need the NASA channel, so I can watch Cinemax (don’t ask, long story).

I finally have Toast working, so I can copy CDs. Toast 6 has a lot of extra goodies in it too. VCD burning and some other stuff, haven’t looked through a whole lot yet. Has some stuff it builds into finder too, to make life easier. Will see if it really does.

I registered for winter semester at Delta yesterday, and paid today. $450, ouch. And still need to buy books sometime in December. Good thing I’m only taking 3 classes/6 credits.

Ok, I am REALLY tired, so going to wrap this up and head to bed.

See you all Friday…

Those aren’t rust holes,
their Aerodynamic Enhancement Modules
a.k.a. Air Resistance Decrementation Units.

(I want to figure one out thats comes out as R.U.S.T., but cant figure it out
Resistance Underminers for Smoother Transit?)

Must be Movie Week

Movies, Matrix, School, Suchyta’s blog, Dumb visitors, SC Johnson is stupid.

Sunday night, I watched Holy Grail, Monday night was Mall Rats, Last Night was the Hulk and Finding Nemo, this afternoon I saw the Matrix Revolutions, and after the blog I will be watching the Italian Job.

Matrix was awesome. I would call it the lesser of the three, but still better than most other movies that come out. Best fight seen of the trilogy though.

I have HTML tomorrow. That’s good, because I couldn’t handle a real class. I arrived in C++ yesterday to find out there was a test. She didn’t feel she needed to tell us because it was on the syllabus. I think a reminder would have been nice, and I’m sure my grade will back me up.

Suchyta has a blog now. It’s so small and cute. There’s only one post, so looks funny. Will grow with time.

My visitors are now by a good majority people who are looking for ser*al numbers and found one of the blog pages by google. It’s sad, I have like 5 hits a day now and I don’t really want them, because their all morons looking on websites for ser*als. LOOK ON LIMEWIRE DUMB SHITS!

Ever see the commercial for SC Johnson talking about family tradition and such? You realize ALL of SC Johnson’s major consumer products (Ziploc, Glade, and Pledge) are products that they BOUGHT from DOW? Family tradition my ass, acquiring good products and calling them your own. Try inventing something of your own schmucks.

Ok, I got nothing else. Time for Italian Job. Go away now.

Don’t mind me, just passing through, going about my business.
What is my business?

I'm Back!

Lost Blog Returns, More Panther, Car, and Updates.

I fixed it!

When I wiped HD to install Panther, I wasn’t aware that iblog store original text in a system file that I was supposed to back up. Luckily I had backed up whole HD to cds about a month ago. So I have spent last week learning Panther, fixing blog, etc…

Panther is soooo cool. Jason, Nick: I installed Toast today, so can duplicate disks over weekend. Panther is the reason Windows users switch over. Wow, just wow.

Having not had a posted blog for a week I forgot to mention the car was fixed. Well, the brakes were fixed. Still plenty wrong with it.

Ok, the way I see it merely POSTING a blog is quite a bit, so thats all for now.

No quote, but ALL quotes will be put on a page, for reference.

And comments may be erased, as I needed to repost last 30 days of posts, which were the ones commented. Sorry…

Til Sunday,
nick

Different Continued

Bugs, Panther, Road trip, SC4, Cleaning, and 2nd difference.

What is with these bugs? These little LadyBug looking things are everywhere, and they bite, and are plain annoying anyway.

Apple announced the release date for Mac OS X 10.3 Panther yesterday. Will be available 8:00 pm October 24th for $129, $69 student. Mine is already ordered and will be delivered late day the 24th. Jason, Nick, and I also plan to drive down to the Somerset Apple store in Troy for the party too (exit 69, Big Beaver Rd.).

Got S*m C*ty 4 CD 2 finally. Game is awesome, much faster than forums led me to believe. Budgeting and keeping population happy is much harder than in SC2K.

No progress on cleaning room. Between SC4 and work, not much time.

OK, so here’s the poem then. This is from 11th grade English. Were took a walk around the school, then wrote a poem about it. Most were generic boring rhymes. Mine though, well, you’ll see. Not greatest, but better than most.

Ok, have fun.

till Sunday,
nick

“Poem” was originally posted here but has since been moved to the Portfolio section.

Hi

Comments, ipod, headphones, Airport, 10.2.8 v.2, Panther, Cleaning, Website, and IBEW.

Hey! I’m glad to see some of you are taking advantage of the comment system. Only 3 of you (well technically 2) but there are only 3 or maybe 4 that regularly read, so thats pretty good I guess. I have removed access to the counter details, for a couple reasons. I doubt many of you ever really used it anyway.

I am enjoying ipod more each day. I want to get some new headphones though, Looking at Sennheiser’s PX200s. Sennheiser is the same company that makes most Aircraft radio headsets and studio mics, so they already seem like a good choice. This model also has great reviews, as does the very similar 100 model. Plus, unlike the other higher end models I had looked at, they fold up nice and tiny, and are only like $40 -$50!

Also enjoying Airport card, using it right now! And now that 10.2.8 v.2 is out, my battery life is back to normal. My 6 hr battery that will generally give me about 4 hours in OS9 and 5 in X, was down to about 2 hours in X with the first 10.2.8 update. Maybe when Panther arrives (Oct 24th?) I will see even better time.

I am cleaning my room, very slowly. Moved bed, cleaned up computer table, filed some papers. Problem is brother’s stuff is skattered about too. Doubt will get much further tonight, and work tomorrow. Maybe finish Sunday?

Want to redo website again. According to counter, nobody goes there really, but what the hey, its something to do. Granted, that will mean beginning v.3 when v.2 isn’t even finished (or v.1 for that matter) but I always knew it was going to be a work under constant progress (hoped there would be progress anyway). Will decide before next update weather I will attempt it or not.

Received letter from IBEW, I am accepted for interview, what did I tell you. Interview will be next Wednesday (the 15th).

Ok, thats all for now. Want to try and get back to old blog, where I would just complain and you would read it and laugh. I guess thats a complaint, so I am doing well toward goal.

Ok, TTYL,
nick

There are 10 types of people in the world.
Those who know binary, and those who don’t.

I got prizes!

Prizes, Hits, and River of Time.

Friday morning, I received a brand new airport card, so I can go online wirelessly. It’s very cool. And, I got a refurbished 10GB ipod, also very cool. Next, I need headphones. The earbuds bug me.

Just yesterday I received more hits than normally in 2 weeks. MacRumors had a poll as to whether or not visitors have a blog, I responded yes and posted address. The result was 17 new visitors from 3 countries.

Haven’t made it to River of Time yet. Busy with new stuff. Definitely going tomorrow though. Havent missed one yet.

Ok, I guess thats all. See you on Tuesday, will try for a post bigger than this and previous.

See ya,

Hello World!

Blogger posts, New site, Apple updates, Spam, Hurricane, Cousin, Caps lock, post length, Yous.

Hi, and welcome to another action-packed episode of Nick’s Rants.

I spent about 3 hours copy-pasting and formating the HTML from old blog into new posts on this blog. They have original formating, original links, and original typos. I titled the ones I posted on blogger’s site, and left the Kung-Log entries with their original title. The only real modification is I fixed the first link I made, to Vervante’s website (I guess that means my contest is over). They are listed as being posted on their original date, and contain the original post date and time in the summary. By the way, ALL posts now have a summary, should make it easier to figure out what your in store for.

Also, almost done with the new website. Essentially the same as current, but no frames (which annoy me) and is easier for me to play with. Expect it to be up within a week or so.

Apple released new 12, 15, and 17 inch PowerBooks Tuesday morning at 4 AM EST. I was actually going to post that right away, but held off. Also, the Bluetooth Keyboards and Mice debuted. Overall very exciting. See Apple’s site for the details.

Found a major annoyance. Junk mail advertising Spam filters. Seriously, what the hell? Someone sends you spam about preventing spam? Thats like a guy breaking into your house to sell you a security system. Well, maybe not that bad, but still. It’s rediculous.

Uhmmmm………….

“Stand back, theres a hurricane a-brewwin.” Nevermind, WWE thing. Seriously though, Isabel is on it’s way, looks like we might get quite a bit of rain. Time will tell.

Also on the way is my cousin, Tim. Actually, he should have landed over an hour ago. He’s in town for his parents 50th birthdays, celebrating both now, about half way between.

The Logitech wireless keyboard I got my mom is working well, except there is no Caps Lock light. If anyone knows of a menu bar or dock item that would indicate this, let me know. I know of some for OS 9, but can’t find any for X.

Is that it? Hmm. Ohh, in going through old posts, came up with the following stats:

May 236 words
June 3280 words
July 3350 words
August 4309 words

Impressive yes? (except the formatting. All fonts should be monospace, its so much easier) Actually, that includes HTML tags, so its a good bit less, I think. Oh well, you can see which months are longer and shorter anyway. So thats something.

This is number 42, and counter on site says 93, I am feeling better about this whole thing. Apparently people are reading. Counter stats list Austin, TX, Great Britain, North Dakota, and Chicago ISPs, and more. Most are CharterMI.net and CMich.edu though, which is expected.

Ok, that IS all.

Til Sunday,
nick

If I wanted your opinion, I would give it to you.
