Whoopsie

Late, Work, Biking, and Jenn.

OK, I admit it. I am late on this post. It is 2:24am on Sunday, and I was supposed to post on Saturday. Oh well. By old standards, this would be fine, so I deem it still so.

So lets see…

Only 1 vote on poll so far. That’s a bit disappointing. You people need to get it together.

My past few days activities…

Thursday and Friday we did not work, since it was supposed to rain., It did some, so that was a nice break. Saturday we did work though, so I will have an at least decent paycheck.

Thursday I went on a 16.2 mile bike ride, as a follow up to the 10 I did Wednesday night. A note for you all: Don’t do 10 miles, then 15 a mere 14 hours later. After you pass 5 miles, it’s not so bad, but until you get that far there is some pain.

I have been spending the past several evenings wit Jenn. We went to the Driving range on earlier in the week, went to Carrol and Maplewood park on Thursday, and Maplewood again on Friday. Roller slides are awesome, I forgot that. Especially when they’re wet, its much better. Today we went to Dutch Village for putt putt, Texan for dinner, and then to the end of Finn Rd. to watch the sunset.

That would be about it. I highly suggest you all go find a roller slide, or go play at a park you haven’t been to in several years. It is a lot of fun. Wet slides and swings with puddles below are too much fun to leave behind.

See you all Tuesday,

nick

Pedestrians always have the right of way,
Except when their in the way.

I was in Wyoming!

Road trip, Movie, Grades, Work, Biking, Thunderstorms, and House.

Really, Scott asked me yesterday to go with him to take a couch from his apartment in Mt. Pleasant to his sister’s house in Grand Rapids, so we went through Wyoming, MI. We also had the privilege of seeing “The Eat Place” in St. Louis. Then we got the tickets for Bubba Ho-tep and I got to sit home for a whopping 2 hours.

Bubba Ho-tep was extremely funny. I’m not totally sure, but it should be available for rental, and I highly recommend it.

I got my grades from Delta, A, A, and B in HTML, JS, and Networking respectively, as I predicted.

Friday I worked, shoveling mulch. I didn’t get a pay check this past week, because I didn’t work the previous week. Oh well, will get one this friday. Worked Thursday also, but you know that from the last update.

Been riding bike more too. Trying to do at least 7 miles a day. I should be doing more, but the only days its not raining, I work and am a bit too tired to do more.

There is a thunderstorm right now, and there was just a big thunderclap that even set off some car alarms. There has been quite a bit of thunderstorms lately. According to Delta’s weather page we’re at 2.3″ of rain the last I checked, and its only the 9th.

Speaking of dates, the 7th was 1 year since we moved, and since I let Ludwig go. I miss the house, I miss my turtle. But they are gone, and I have moved on (kinda).

Ok, that’s it for today. Will see you all on Wednesday with a new poll too.

If you drank all the kool-aid from the big pitcher guy, would he die?
(he did in Homer’s daydream anyway)

It's warm again, yeay!

Broadway closed, who is AOL for XP, Erica, Poll, Site, and Movie.

Broadway closed late Monday night, or Tuesday morning. It is beginning to suck. It’s not so bad that I can’t go down broadway, but that it’s really hard to pull onto Lafayette from Wilson.

Somebody using AOL for XP has been frequenting the blog. There is no referral, and it’s a recurring visitor. Whoever you are, show yourself. Please?

Erica has disappeared. I see her view blog now and then, but doesn’t read posts, just comes to index page. I presume looking to see if mentioned. Well here you go, you are being mentioned. ;-P

Three votes on poll. You guys can do better than that, come on. I should have put up UHF, I didn’t think about it at the time though. BTW Sarah, you need to put the “other” movie in a comment!

I did more work on the website, but didn’t post the changes. I am in a bit of a dilemma over it. I just don’t know what I should be doing with it. Oh well, I will decide eventually.

Hmmm…

Saturday at 11 is Bubba Ho-tep. Should be fun.

Ok, I’m all out. Will talk at you all Sunday.

UNIX is basically a simple operating system, but you have to be a genius to understand the simplicity.

I Hit the Car!

I hit the car!, and Movies (yes, that’s about it).

I hit the car, haha.

Ok, an explanation. On Freeland Rd., just off Bay, there is this driving range. Out about 150 yards, there is this 89ish Grand Am sitting out there. When I first saw it, I said “I have to hit the car.” Once we had our balls and were out there, I noticed a sign saying if you hit the car, you could win a club. So, I tried and tried, and eventually, I did it. Bounced right off the hood. As we left, I let the guy know and he signed me up for the drawing, so come September, I might win a golf club.

BTW, golf is a weird sport, with the shafts and the balls and all.

What else…

Monty Python was awesome. Was great to see on big screen for once. Scott and I are going this coming Saturday for Bubba Hotep, starring the dude from Army of Darkness.

Also, note the new poll.
PLEASE VOTE!!!!!!!

Hmm….

I think that’s about it.

Sorry so short, but I haven’t really done alot.

Till Thursday,
nick

If I had a nickle for every e-mail I get,
I would throw them at people.

Ehh, Kinda Tired

itunes, IC America, Movie, School and Weather, and Scott’s suggestion.

Oh, what to say, what to say…

Well, there are only about 2 hours remaining in the itunes giveaway. Apparently only like 5 million of the 100 million free songs had been redeemed as of Wednesday morning. BTW, Wednesday was the 1 yr anniversary of the itunes music store, and also brought the release of a new version of itunes, now at 4.5. I have redeemed all 11 of my songs.

I forgot to point out that throughout IC America, it was very noticeable (to me anyway) that Alton Brown was using a 15″ AlBook (a mac). He was in MacWorld a year or 2 ago for his mac use.

Tomorrow I am going with Scott to Chen’s (new chinese place in mall) for lunch, then to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail at Fashion Square. I suggest you all go as well, only $3.

School is all over. As far as I know, I have an A in Java, a B- in Networking Essentials, and an A in Adv. HTML. Not bad overall. I do have one problem though, ITS NOT WARM YET! Well, sometimes it is, but its generally railing at those times. Stupid weather.

Scott has suggested that I post the results for the past polls. They are all saved by bravenet, but only visible to me. I will need to set up a page on the website with them all I guess. I should anyway, because I think it only remembers the last 10, and I don’t want to lose them.

I think thats it for now. I’ sure I am forgetting something, but it will need to wait til Monday. Also, a new poll Monday.

bye,
nick

NyQuill – the nighttime -sniffling, -sneezing, -what-the-hell-am-I-doing-on-the-kitchen-floor medicine.

I went WarDriving!

WarDriving, Poll, IC America, Exams, and Holy Grail.

I drove around for like an hour today WarDriving. For those who don’t know, it means I was driving around with my laptop looking for WiFi networks that I can connect to. I found a whole heaping load of them, especially along 4th and 5th streets, where the older buildings prevent easily pulling wire. Now i really want a GPS though, so I can record the networks and their location, for future reference. I can build a WiFi coverage map of the city for all you to use. I just need $89 for the GPS though.

Evil Sarah says I can’t vote in my own polls I see. The very nice Scott says I can though. Hopefully a few more of you will vote too.

Iron Chef America is all over now, though it is replaying all week. Results are as follows:

Flay over Sakai – Trout
Batali over Morimoto – Spiny Lobster
Puck over Morimoto – Eggs
Flay and Morimoto over Batali and Sakai – Sea Urchin, Scallops, and Langoustine

All 4 were against my judgment, except the Batali Morimoto. All in all though, I guess Flay was winningiest with 2 wins, followed by Batali, Puck, and Morimoto in a tie with 1 each, then followed by Sakai with 0. So the winners of the poll contest are Erica and Stacey, who both voted Morimoto. I would have voted probably Sakai (who should have been 2-0, not 0-2) or Batali. I still can’t freaking believe that Sakai lost a fish battle, or even lost at all. And that Sakai and Batali lost the Tag team is bull.

Anyway…

Tomorrow I have HTML, Thursday will be JS and Networking, then I am free! Yeay, 2 days off. Ok, not so impressive. Will give me more hours to work so I can afford a GPS though.

Hmmm, what else…

Oh, Monthy Python and the Holy Grail, this Saturday at 11pm at Fashion Square. I know Scott is going, and hope more of you can too. Let me know, ok?

I guess that is all.

Will see you all Friday to let you know how last week of school went.

bye,
nick

You don’t need to be right all the time, just enough of the majority that people THINK you are.

Ehhhhhhhh!

Evil JavaScript, Magic moment, Tired, and Weather.

I should be doing my JavaScript homework, but I can’t. I tried at it for several hours this afternoon, and again for the last hour or so tonight, but I can’t do it. The assignments were so easy for the last 13 weeks, but now, now they are not. I can’t even get a part to work, it’s just being ugly.

Yesterday, the magic moment occurred. I should explain I guess. You all know military time, right? It goes from 0:00:00 to 23:59:59. Ok, and then there is the european date format. So where we would say April 21, 2004, they would say 21 April, 2004. So, 4/21/2004 would be 21/04/2004. So with all that, yesterday, around 8:04pm, was 20/04/2004 20:04:20.04 (thats April 20th, 2004 at 8:04pm, and 20.04 seconds). Cool, huh? I noticed it last year, maybe year before. Next will be on May 20th 2005 at 8:05pm. The last one we will see is December 20th 2012 at 8:12pm. After that, they wont occur again until January 21st, 2101, at 9:01pm. By then I would be 118ish, and doubt I will be alive, or will any of you (you never know though).

Hmm, what else.

Two more votes on the poll I see. I have no idea who made them though. I don’t recognize the IPs. New poll next time.

I am very tired, which is odd because I slept from 9:30 last night til 10:30 this morning, with the exception of about an hour around 7am. Thats still 12 hours, and I have no right being tired.

Just over a week of school left, woohoo!

It has been pretty nice out, except the wind. I thought it was april showers, not april 40mph gusts? Its so warm out, I want to go ride my bike, but is hard with steady 20mph winds. It needs to get nice out, please.

Ok, I should go attempt more JS, just because.

bye
nick

If you grab one arm with the other, and pull really hard, could you ever pick yourself up?
That would be cool.

Hot? In April?

Weather, Apple, Count, Movies, Biking, and Work.

The hell is this shit?

Yes, I asked for warmer, but I just wanted warmer than 30s and 40s, not the freaking 80s already. Can we get a 70 – 75 with no wind maybe?

Apple released a heap of new software today, but no hardware. Most are still expecting new iBooks and PowerBooks tomorrow. We will see.

I passed 1100 today. I am giving the title to Erica, although she was 1101. Some stupid googlers got 1099 and 1100, so she was closest. I shouldn’t though, since she doesn’t talk to me anymore :-P.

I went to Zabro’s and to see “the Punisher” yesterday with my brother. Very awesome movie. Also, why did nobody tell me how much better GKC is than Goodrich? I still want to see HellBoy, JerseyGirl, and Holy Grail will be there at the end of the month too. If anyone is interested, PLEASE let me know. I hate seeing movies alone.

I rode most of the rail-trail with my mom on Friday night. Was like 7.5 miles round trip, so 2 under. As was with the movies, if anyone would like to go with me, let me know. I am available pretty much 24 – 7 since I have no life, unlike all of you.

I worked Friday too. I was all yellow from the pre-emergent we put down. I still have a few yellow spots I either miss or just can’t get off yet.

So, that’s what I’ve been up to. I haven’t heard from some of you in a few days, but see you checking the blog. I wish you would let me know what’s going on, either an IM or a comment, something.

Ok, toodles.

nick

I think, therefore I am
Probably true
I am, therefore I think
Not necessarily

Huh?

The hell? Second blog today, Headache, Poll, and other stuff.

Ok, so I have to start out with these recent comments:

You know you’ve hit a new level of low when you start putting names into dogpile.

Add Chen to that poll!
Stacey | 04.12.04 – 10:48 pm |

and

What’s even better is when you realize it’s not a friends blog but a foaf
Stacey | 04.12.04 – 10:52 pm |

Ok, what?

Well, I guess I can answer part of this.

1) It seems whoever this is, they were referred in via a dogpile search for “nick+suchyta”, so thet would answer the dogpile think and maybe Suchyta will know who they are.

2) No Chen. He is not in the Tournament of Masters (sadly, I think he should be too) because he was last on IC like 5 years ago, and was pretty old then. The poll pertains only to those chefs in the Tournament of Masters, which will be on Food Network on the 27th-ish.

3) foaf? thats friend of a friend, right? Yeah, OK, so Stacy is Suchyta’s friend. Ok, problem solved then.

I guess if Stacy comes back, or maybe Suchyta can, a comment verifying this would be appreciated.

Anyway…

I wrote a big blog at like 2:13 this morning (not afternoon, morning) but erased it because it was all funky. So, I need to write another one, but the mysterious “Stacy” helped me with a good chunk of stuff.

I have another nasty wisdom tooth headache right now, and i am having trouble seeing straight. This is one of the fun ones that makes my eyes hurt. This is not very nice of my teeth. I try giving them somewhere to live, and they go and trash the place. One day though, one day I will kick their asses out.

Yeah, anyway…

So, I think I am going to end up sticking with 3 blogs per poll. I have anyway, so why not. I picked up 3 new votes today, so I see no reason to pull it. I believe it is a tie between Morimoto and Sakai with 2 each right now, so if you feel it should be otherwise, THEN VOTE. Maybe when we know who wins in 2 weeks, I will be nice and reward whoever’s vote was correct? Probably not, but who knows, I have done stranger things.

Uhm…

I have had a bunch of stuff on my mind lately, and that’s actually what the first blog early this morning was all about. I think it should stay in my head for now though, until lI get it sorted out a bit more.

And finally…
I asked you all a little bit ago if you would comment more, so you did, and I appreciate it. BUT you stopped then. You only commented the once. Really people, you need to keep it up, I like reading comments, even when it’s from people that I have no clue who are.

I guess thats it. I want to go to bed, because my head hurts, so you all have to go away now. New poll and blog on Thursday (maybe, I don’t want to say right now). Also, supposed to be getting pretty warm toward this weekend, so I will probably be trying to get some bike riding in. If anyone else wants to, you should let me know (hint hint).

Bye,
nick

Avoid cliches like the plague.

Boredom Sucks

Bored, 1000th, Erica’s bike (finally), Post count, School, Poll, Bike and Job, and GM and GE.

I am really bored right now. Everyone is going off to do fun stuff for Friday night, and I have nothing. Oh well. One day, I will make you regret it. I will be the awesomeist of all, and you will regret not doing stuff with me before, when you could. Yes, I will show you, I will show you all. Bwahahahahaha!

Anyway…

Well, I was way off. I said I should have the 1000th hit by Friday, and, well, I did. Heck, I had it by Wednesday night. Somehow, I managed over 50 visitors in 6 days. I did really well at not letting anyone know who it was too. Even now, only the person and I actually know. It was almost some crazy googler looking for u^^pa lu^^pas too. In fact, both the 999th and the 1001st were. So, in desperation, I asked the only one of you people who were nice enough to be semi-available to run to the site to pick up the 1000th, and you did. So, without further a due, my 1000th visitor was…

Apr 7, 2004 06:15:33 PM
66.227.198.#
Windows XP (NT 5.1)
Internet Explorer 6.0

(thats Erica, for those of you who don’t have all my visitors IP addresses memorized yet.)

Congratulations, and thank you for keeping the title from the evil google monkeys. Also, congratulations on finally getting your bike. And by the way, I am up to 1022 visitors as of right now.

What else…

This is my 110th blog, wow. In theory, I will have 122 on the anniversary, but I think the 2 test entries will put me at 124. I’m not sure.

Only 3 weeks of school now. I seem to have been a week ahead for a while, telling people 4 left when there were 5. Like I said a few days ago, I am excited for the warmer weather more than for the no more school. I mean, i have 6 credits and 2 are online, and HTML is barely a class. Anyway, 3 weeks.

Only 2 people have voted in the poll. I think maybe a few more of you should vote. I mean, it’s Iron Chef, everybody likes Iron Chef, or at least did at some point.

I still haven’t gotten my bike to Ray’s in Midland. Not that I can afford it anyway. My mom is right, I need to get a job. Stupid GM. They better call before fall, or else. “Or else what?” you ask? Well come on, like I can actually do anything to a Fortune 5 multi-$billion international corporation. For pete’s sake, GM owns like half of everything in the US, basically everything GE doesn’t.

They really should merge, it would be cool. i mean, come on, 1 corporation that owns as much as those two. GM has Chevrolet, Buick, Oldsmobile, GMC, Cadilac, Hummer, Pontiac, Saab, Vauxhall, Fridgedare, Hughes, GMAC, DirectTV, Powertrain, OnStar, Fiat, Subaru, Saturn, Holden, Opel, Isuzu, Suzuki, and more. Then GE owns NBC, Geico, and owns patents on or manufactures everything form light bulbs to appliances, lexan plexiglass to jet engines, batteries to fiber-optic cable, and nuclear reactors to medical imaging equipment like CT and MRI scanners. Both have huge investment, insurance, and financing divisions. I mean, come on, it would be great. Throw in Xerox, SBC, and Exxon/Mobil and you could take over the world, literally.

Yeah, definitely bored.

Well, I have to take a test online for my CST-161 class, so I guess I will go do that now, and see you all later. Enjoy your weekend, Happy Easter, and I shall return on Monday.

later,
nick

People do crazy stuff on TV, like eat at Arby’s
(I don’t remember if that was Lois Griffin, or Marge Simpson.)
